Yesterday Rica got to celebrate her second Halloween and the first one where she had at least an inkling of what was going on. (By the way, this is also the one-year anniversary of her blog, which started last Halloween.

In the morning she got dressed in a very cute Halloween outfit that her Grammy had custom-made for her (including a necklace of glowing pumpkin beads) and then she went to daycare where they had a Halloween party.

Once she got back home we made a first attempt at trick-or-treating but unfortunately our neighbors were not home yet, so Rica's hopes to see Kaya (their dog) and get her first candy were disappointed at first...

But then we decided to just sit on our porch with Rica in her busy bee outfit and hand out candy to the many trick-or-treaters, which was more fun than going from door to door ourselves.

Things got even better once Rosie the Riveter (aka Amelia) and Broscutza (aka Veronica) and their parents joined the party.

and we all got to sit on the porch and have muffins and/or plum brandy&beer and watch the Halloween parade outside our house. For much of the evening Rica insisted to be held by the same person who was holding Vera - they even shared the muffins (that Mama had made for the occasion) without too much conflict. All in all, a great night of chaotic fun!!
