Probably the best part about the last five months since Lia was born has been to watch the relationship between the two sisters evolve. We're not sure how much Rica understood about what it meant that Mama had a little baby in the belly, and she was a bit confused at first about the situation but all-in-all she has handled the situation beautifully and has shown her little sister nothing but love and affection. You can see it in her eyes from the very first days...
On most days, the first thing Rica will say in the morning after getting up is that she wants to go see the baby Lia, and when she gets back from daycare the first question is usually again about where her sister is.
Nor does the love seem to be lost on Lia, who lights up when she sees her big sister, and seems to be very amused by the various antics Rica does to keep her entertained (she says "Rica face fitze..." - "Rica is doing tricks")
As of today there's a new trick - namely feeding Lia carrot puree, which is a pretty messy process, but seems to be fun for both of them, so who cares about the laundry!
